LRP iX8 V2 1/8th scale BL speedo

Coming soon from LRP is the iX8 Version 2 brushless speed controller. Designed mainly for 1/8th scale applications the up to 6S compatible speedo features a new hardware as well as an updated v2.6 Team firmware for improved performance as it will make the speedo to run cooler while improving the brake performance at the same time. With revised throttle settings it will also help to gain better acceleration. Like the former iX8 the controller comes with an arrangement of accessories including a fan and pre-configured wires.

Tamiya TRF102 formula chassis kit

Tamiya's latest weapon for the growing 1/10th scale electric Formula class is the TRF102. Designed with rubber tyre racing in mind the kit features a 2.5mm carbon fibre main chassis with side slots for improved flex while the newly-designed rear T-bar suspension with aluminium hinge joint makes for improved traction and side bite when running on lower grip or bumpy surfaces as the roll and pitch movement is adjustable independently. A newly designed floating battery mount allows the T-bar to move freely while not having the battery touching the chassis plate allows the chassis to flex freely during cornering and over bumps. Also part of the new suspension package is a redesigned composite front suspension with updated servo mount that allows for a secure mounting of low-profile servos.

Team Orion dDrive 2-in-1 brushless power system

New from Team Orion comes the dDrive 2-in-1 brushless power unit. Designed for 1/10th scale vehicles the power system combined the motor and speed controller into one compact unit. Making use of a 2700kv or 3000kv brushless motor and utilising a high-performance speed controller both parts are housed in the same aluminium heatsink case with only the power wires, RX connector wire and on/off switch wire sticking out of the can. Being of a sensorless design the integrated controller offers three different drive modes, adjustable performance settings, overheat protection and low-voltage cut-off. The splash waterproof unit is 58mm long and it comes pre-wired with a T-type connector

Reedy releases new Sonic 540-M3 brushless motor line

For the last 12 months, the Reedy development team has been working behind the scenes utilizing a combination of new ideas and proven concepts to create the all-new Sonic 540-M3 Competition Brushless Motor. On the outside, the 540-M3 appears very similar to the Mach 2, but look closely and you will realize that nothing has been carried over from the previous model. A 3-piece CNC machined can reduces weight while improving airflow, component fit, and bearing alignment. Heavy-duty silver-plated solder tabs are not only thicker to reduce resistance, but are also cupped to aid soldering, and well supported to prevent internal connections from fatiguing over time.
Inside, changes are less obvious but result in huge performance gains. Sonic 540-M3 Spec motors walk the edge of legality in exchange for maximum power output and RPM thanks to an all-new stator design, pure copper magnet wire, and low-resistance collector rings. Available short-stack 17.5 and 13.5 versions suit 1S-powered pan cars and under the right circumstances can create a power advantage in 2S-powered buggies, trucks, and touring cars.
Unlike Spec class racing, Modified is about controlling power. Sonic motors have always been known for their linear power delivery and the 540-M3 does not disappoint. A new stator design improves mid-range feel which both on- and off-road racers will appreciate.
A balanced, high-strength sintered rotor provides powerful, fade-free performance thanks to improved manufacturing processes. To fine-tune for specific applications and tracks, a variety of optional rotors are available. Lastly, larger precision stainless steel ball bearings have been fitted to accommodate high RPM loads with improved reliability.
